Course Objective

The course aims to explain factors of rapidly changing world system in 18th and 19th centuries and to review its effects in Türkiye, and to determine role and effects of Emperialism on Türkiye.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   know about changing position of the Ottoman Empire in 19th and 20th centuries
2   learn the concept of Great Power and understand its relation with emperialism
3   analyze policies and aims of Great Powers and to seek the position of Türkiye in it
4   analyze effects of Great Powers to Turkish social and political structure
5   evaluate dynamics between Türkiye and Great Powers in conjuncture of international relations
