Course Objective

To learn general aspects of drugs, to discuss pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs, to discuss mechanism of drug-drug interactions

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn the role of clinical pharmacology in the fields of education, medical service and reasearch
2   To be able to interpret plasma concentration time graphic after single and multiple dose drug administration; to be able to define dose effect relation and concept of therapeutic index
3   To understand drug development process from the molecule to the counter and explain and interpret legal issues related with drug development
4   To learn and interpret basic information and legal issues related with drug safety
5   To explain the mechanisms of drug interactions (drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions); to interpret factors influencing these interactions
6   To comprehend the mechanisms of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes in special patient groups.
7   To explain the concept of equivalent drug
8   To learn the drugs that undergo TDM
9   To be able to interpret pharmacogenetic and personal drug selection
10   To learn and practice principles of rational drug use
