Course Objective

Knowing what type and the evolution of type is and can design a typeface.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knowing what communication and type is.
2   Knowing the history of civilization and type.
3   Knowing what calligraphy and type is.
4   Knowing the fonts, the digital fonts and can classify them.
5   Knowing the structure of type.
6   Differentiating the visual characteristics of uppercases.
7   Differentiating the visual characteristics of lowercases.
8   Differentiating the visual characteristics of numbers, punctuation marks and international symbols.
