Course Objective

At the end this course the students can understand and explain that birth of modern world and its effect on Ottoman Empire, pioneers of modernization in Ottoman State, modernization in institutions, periods of III. Selim and II. Mahmut, changes in education, law, political model, monarchy and modernization in the political structure, Meclisi Mebusan and Ayan, economic structure and change, political parties: Ittihat ve Terakki and opposition years, parties ideological characteristics and Second Constitutional Monarchy

1   To able to explain the concepts of reform, modernization and innovation
2   To able to explain innovation movements in Ottoman Empire and Europe coparatively.
3   To able to have information about pioneers in innovation movement
4   To able to explain the effects of innovation movements in Türkiye
5   To able to explain modernization movements according to their periods
