Course Objective

Aim of this course is ;
* to provide an overview of the shipping sector ;
* to gain academic approach to maritime policy;
* to examine key issues affecting maritime policy.
* to give some useful information to understand and deal with international shipping issues and policies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1	After a successfully completed course, the student shall, in the domain of maritime policy, be able to define maritime transport industry and policy terms.
2	analyze and compare the roles and interests of the private and public stakeholders related with maritime policy
3	interpret the effects of maritime policy initiatives from a country and shipping company perspective.
4	review the commercial trends and challenges for the maritime transport industry and its policies
5	understand the national and international approach to maritime policies
