To introduce Indian sacred texts and their contents; to inform their formation and canonization process and debates around them

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn formation of Vedas and their contents
2   Perceive importance of Indian epics and Bhagavad-Gita in Indian religious life
3   Learn Buddhist texts and their themes
4   Get information about Indian manuals and their contents
5   Perceive similarities and differences between Indian and Islamic religious texts in respect of style and content
6   Perceive socio-cultural effects on information of religious texts
