Course Objective

To learn varieties of Arabic Literature, periods of Arabic Literature and sources of Arabic language and literature such as encyclopedic literary books, poetry books, collected poems, literary criticism and eloquence books, proverbs, prosody and rhyme books, lexicography, philology and grammar books and recognize the ways to benefit from this books.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Midterm and Final Exam:
In Mid-term and final exam, the students are asked questions in classical style about resources of Arabic literature and their salient features.

Homework:
The student prepares a composition about the resources of Arabic literature, or works on specific areas such as Arabic grammar, rhetoric, literature, or subject dealing with language schools, persons and books, and then presents this composition in printed output.

Assessment Criteria

The students will be assessed based on success in their mid-term, homework assignment and final exams along with their performance during the classes throughout the semester
