Course Objective

To give technical and methodological knowledge appropriate for scientific standards in researches relating to Riwayah (narration) and Dirayah (knowing) sciences.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student gains basic knowledge of research methods in Islamic sciences, in addition to Hadith and Sunnah studies.
2   Gets experience about old and new sources of Riwayah and Dirayah sciences.
3   Recognizes printed and digital sources of Islamic sciences.
4   Obtains skill about reaching to scientific knowledge by means of the Internet and Islamic softwares.
5   Comprehends some methodic mistakes in academic environments by means of selected texts, sound records and videos.

1 General Survey on the some methodological problems in contemporary approaches to Basic Islamic Sciences and Academia
2 Description of basic concepts such as "Knowledge-Science, Understanding, Wisdom, Gnosis, Truth, Method, Manner, Propriety, Sunnah, Bid'ah" etc.
3 The sciences that create the Islamic civilization and common constructions of them
4 The ways reaching to Knowledge and the sources of Knowledge in Islamic Sciences
5 The goal of Science and intention, physical and moral infrastructure, technical infrastructure
6 "Ethics of Master and Learner" literature in history of Islam
7 The problem of methodological infrastructure in Riwayah and Dirayah Sciences
8 Midterm Exam
9 Using methods of web and digital libraries in Islamic researches especially in Riwayah and Dirayah Sciences
10 Short ways to get digital scientific sources (book or article) through computer and smartphones
11 Latest digital softwares available and their using
12 Methodical and procedural problems in presentation and evaluation of religious knowledge in the virtual world
13 The rules that must be following in writing thesis, using Microsoft Word
