Course Objective

To examine the written transmission of hadiths. To examine treatises and books on hadith their systems for writing, contents, and the reliability of their hadiths starting form the early days of Islam.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Achieves the ability to analyze the sources of hadith texts
2   Achieves the ability to analyze the information efecting negatively cross-cultural relationship
3   Gains the ability to reach the healthy data in religious services
4   Achieves the ability to combine the needs of the society with the religious and ethical values
5   Student knows the process of formation of the sources of hadiths.

1 Writing of the hadith during the period of Prophet
2 Phases of the formation of Hadith literature
3 Hadith books before the formation of the main sources
4 Hadith pages Omar and Abu Bakr's trials and the pages of Abdullah b. Amir, Ali, Abu Hurairah, and others
5 Attempts of fabricating hadiths
6 The born of movement of "jarh and ta'dil" and works on "jarh and ta'dil" in Hadith Literature
7 The period of collection and classification of hadiths (2nd Century Hijrah)
8 Golden era of the classification (3rd Century Hijrah)
9 Jami's, Sunans and the value of reliability of hadiths
10 Musnads and Mu'jams
11 The effects of scientific and intellectual movements in formation of Hadith literature
12 Souces for hadiths such as targhib and tarhib and evaluation of their reliability
13 Methods of using the sources of hadith today
