Course Objective

To teach the UN human rights system, universal human rights documents and the available
protection mechanisms within UN.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have a grasp of the role and importance of the UN in protection of human rights.
2   To express the importance and the reform of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights
3   To have a good command of the UN's human rights treaties and additional protocols
4   To express the human rights' protection mechanisms' functions and missions within the UN's human rights treaties
5   To express the functions and missions of the other human rights' protection mechanisms except UN's treaties
6   To express the functions and missions of the human rights' protection mechanisms within the UN Act
