Course Objective

The course aims to provide the students with the ability to evaluate the evolution and dynamics of the EU within a theoretical perspective by introducing political integration theories which try to explain European integration process from different points of views.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To define the concepts of integration and political integration
2   To specify the basic arguments of European political integration theories
3   To differentiate between the diverse approaches of political integration theories towards European integration process
4   To analyze the evolution of European integration process within the context of political integration theories
5   To discuss the role played by the EU in international relations as a political actor
6   To present evaluations regarding European political integration theories in an analytical perspective
