Course Objective

It is aimed that students will learn how to make 3D character modeling with clay/polymer clay material. They will be introduced to the production of 3D modeling and design in character creation. It also covers character modeling and fanart projects used in cinema, animation, and advertising sectors. In this respect, students who want to make a career in these fields, which are the sectoral connection of sculpture art, will be introduced to 3D character modeling and design with this course. This course aims to provide students with plastic, aesthetic, and technical knowledge about 3D character design, to use the main materials and techniques used in 3D character design, and to make 3D modeling using this knowledge and skills.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. To be able to use the plastic, aesthetic, and technical knowledge about 3D character designs in their designs.
2   2. To have knowledge about artists, works, and styles in the discipline of character design.
3   3. To be able to use techniques and materials used in 3D design.
4   4. To have the theoretical preparation, drawing, and technical skills necessary for creating the character in the design process.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1-Examples of 3D Character Designs are analyzed in form and technique and design principles are examined.
2- Each student produces two works at the end of the semester.
3 - The student is free to choose the character and its dimensions.
