Course Objective |
Assembly lines are special flow-line production systems which are typical in the industrial production of high quantity standardized commodities. Because of very different conditions in industrial manufacturing, there occurs a large number of different assembly line balancing problems. The aim of this course is to introduce the fundamental types of assembly lines as well as their extensions. Moreover, students will get familiar to exact and heuristic solution approaches for various types of assembly line balancing problems. |
