Course Objective

The objective of this course is to give a complete and systematic vision for the environmental and resource issues which industrial engineering has been a contributor and also for which industrial engineers can offer the solutions. Industrial engineers should give attention to integrated industry-society-environment interactions and use natural resources more efficiently and minimize waste generation due to the limited natural resources, rapidly growth of population, growing industrial activities and increasing standards of living.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

2	Ability to demonstrate the relationships among production, consumption, sustainability, and industrial ecology
3	To understand the importance of industrial ecology and sustainability concepts for industrial engineering activities
4	Ability to solve the industrial engineering problems which considers environmental and sustainability issues
5	Ability to follow current sustainability issues in industrial engineering
