Course Objective

In this course, it is aimed to
­ learning of structures of prokaryotes biofilm and molecular methods used in this formation
­ understanding of biofilm-related mechanisms and providing information about biofilm usage areas and problems which they cause

1   To understand the development strategies of biofilms
2   To learn the microorganism groups that cause biofilm development
3   To learn the molecular methods used in the investigation of complex biofilm communities and their uses
4   To have knowledge about the functions of biofilms in the ecosystem.
5   To understand the methods applied to prevent biofilm growth.
6   To have knowledge about the negative impacts of biocides and metals on aquatic environments
7   To have an idea about environmentally friendly new products
8   To understand the importance of microbial biofilms in biotechnology
