Course Objective

To provide graduate students with a basic theoretical understanding of surface water quality modeling and to introduce an array of commonly used models including QUAL2EU, CE-QUAL-W2, WASP and others.

1   Knows fundamentals of environmental modeling
2   Understands basics of water quality modeling
3   Understands the concept of mass balance
4   Interprets the changes in water quality in natural and engineered systems
5   Knows the matematical fundamentals of models and numerical solution procedures
