Course Coordinator

PROFESSOR DOCTOR NIHAYET BIZSEL

Offered to

MARINE LIVING RESOURCES

Course Objective

To supply the students who are educated in marine sciences, the knowledge on broad spectrum of dependences of the future growth of aquaculture and highlights both relevant problems and expectations will be elucidated in the environment together with their consequences in terms of technological, social and economical aspects. Monitoring and regulating aquaculture has been urgent after increasing the pressure on the environment. Therefore, this course clarifies eutrophication and provides an insight into water quality models on different scenarios.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To figure out that aquculture as an integrated part of the marine ecosystem
2   To interprete the kind of pollution and their sources
3   To explain the new technologies
4   To evaluate the species composition
5   To indicate that aquaculture has to be managed at different scales
