Course Objective

The objective of this course is to exhibit the ground improvement techniques and understand the mechanism that should be considered during the selection of the most suitable technique depending on the soil type. Under the context of this course, basic concepts on improvement techniques, their calculation sequences, mandatory laboratory and field tests required for Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance will be given. Some laboratory tests will be carried out.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Courses will be held in class (3h). The course will be done by presentations. The necessary and important parts of presentations will be deleted. These deleted presentations and other supplementary documents will be sent to students prior to course. Students should take a printout of these notes before coming to class. Then, course notes, which include important parts, will be presented in the class. At the same time, students can complete blank parts of the presentation on their notes while listening.
