Course Objective

This course covers explanation and application of computer aided drawing and presentation of architectural design by using AutoCAD program. The course is covered in two terms. The second term implies instructions and information for the explanation and implementation of three dimensional drawing and presentation as well as rendering.

1   Recognize concepts relative to computer aided design,

3   Explain the tools for architectural design,
4   Use tools of AutoCAD Program,
5   Operate AutoCAD program for architectural design.

Course Contents

1 Introduction of the course and the weekly program
2 General repetition of the two dimensional drawing and presentation
3 Introduction to three dimensional drawing. Transformation of a two dimensional plan to a three dimensional model; three dimensional model preparation technics.
4 Two and three dimensional surfaces, Working on UCS coordinate system
5 Two and three dimensional surfaces, Working on UCS coordinate system
6 Two and three dimensional surfaces, Working on UCS coordinate system
7 Preparation of three dimensional solid object and its organization
8 Mid-Term Exam
9 Use of advanced 3 dimensional drawing characteristics. Creation of complex surfaces and objects, preparation slides and presentation.
10 Painting of three dimensional objects, material assignment, data change among drawings and general repetition of the subjects.
11 Application of three dimensional computer aided design by AutoCAD Program
12 Application of three dimensional computer aided design by AutoCAD Program
13 Application of three dimensional computer aided design by AutoCAD Program
14 Application of three dimensional computer aided design by AutoCAD Program

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course will be taught in a lecture, class presentation and application format. All class members are expected to attend both the lecture and application sessions. They will submit their revised application study as their final exams.
