Course Objective |
Optimization techniques are used in every engineering disciplines including Textile Engineering nowadays. This course aims at giving some basic knowledge in optimization to engineering students for improving their problem solving capacities and also for their better understanding of some new techniques such as PERT, CPM, Optimal Control Theory etc. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
The course is taught in a lecture, class presentation and discussion format. All class members are expected to attend and both the lecture and seminar hours and take part in the discussion sessions. Besides the taught lecture, group presentations are prepared by the groups and assigned for the week and presented to open a discussion session. |

The students are given an actual problem to solve using their choice of optimization method by preparing a computer program as a project. |
