Course Objective

1. Teaching emissions of solids/liquids/gases from mineral processing plants
2. Teaching arrangement, deposition, control, treatment, discharge of mineral processing wastes
3. Teaching chemicals used in mineral processing activities and their environmental effects
4. Teaching utilization of mineral processing wastes

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows basic mineral processing activities and their environmental effects
2   Knows properties of wastes discharged from mineral processing plants and offer methods for waste minimization
3   Knows how to treat and utilize mineral processing wastes
4   Knows chemicals used in mineral processing
5   Offers solutions for environmental problems caused by mineral processing activities
