Course Objective

The aim of the course is to examine possibilities and limits of existing natural potentials to be regarded as the base of physical planning in the longest time period and to be assessed in an efficient manner for both theory and practice. Conservative and constructive measures will also be considered in their widest sense during the discussions, where the tension between ecology and economy will also be evaluated.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to list the strategies of economic growth and the existing condition of natural resources
2   to describe natural cycles in context of natural resources
3   to interpret the interaction between economic development and ecological balance
4   to analyze the impact of economic development upon urban space
5   to integrate the features of environmental conservation policies
6   to evaluate the importance integrating ecological planning with physical planning
