Course Objective

High temperature cements are used in iron-steel, metallurgical and cement sectors as a bonding material for monolithic refractories and they are not produced in Türkiye. The production, physical, mechanical and thermo-mechanical properties, comparing with portland cement on the microstructure and their behavior in usage in application will be discussed in this course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learning CA clinkers production
2   Knowledge of the formation of new phases, depending on temperature and composition
3   Comparison of CA cement and porland cement
4   Learning the properties of CA cements
5   Know chemical and mineralogical properties and mechanical properties
6   Understanding the importance of compressive strength
7   Learning the effect of curing on hydration
8   Cements the recognition of areas of use at high temperatures
