Course Objective

This course will focus on protective equipment (level measurements, temperature measurements, pressure measurements, other protective devices), data-collecting instrumentation (weighers, on-stream analyzers, on-line sensors pulp density gauges, flowmeters etc. recording instruments. controllers), control loops and computers

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Use the basic concepts and terms related to the scope of the course,
2   Focus on protective equipment
3   To recognize data collection and control devices of mineral processing plants and explain the working principles
4   To evaluate the data-collecting instrumentation, control loops and computers
5   To develop the ability of giving a presentation to an audience and making comments on student's work

6 Automatic measurements and instrumentation in comminution processes
7 Automatic measurements and instrumentation in classification processes
8 Automatic measurements and instrumentation in separation processes based on density difference
9 Automatic measurements and instrumentation in other physical separation facilities
