Course Objective

This course aims to give the knowledge on Geochemistry and economics of Rare Earth Elements (REE).

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know the Rare Earth Elements and their geochemical-economic significance.
2   To know the importance of Rare Earth Elements in geochronological studies and to be able to interpret data.
3   To be able to define the behaviour of Rare Earth Elements in different geochemical environments.
4   To be able to identify and know the economic Rare Earth Minerals and the minerals that may be used to obtain rare earth elements as by products.
5   To know the geological-geochemical criteria for exploration of Rare Earth Elements and to be able to collaborate with different disciplines on exploration and operation stages.
