Course Objective

In this course, non-linear reinforced concrete element behavior and behavioral models in the scope of performance-based design will be discussed. For this purpose, the external loads to be exposed to reinforced concrete structural systems and their effects on the behavior of structural elements will be explained.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to comprehend the behavioral properties of reinforced concrete structural elements under cyclic loading
2   Analysis of inelastic nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete elements
3   Defining non-linear cross-sectional properties of reinforced concrete columns and beams
4   Investigation of different approaches in shear design of reinforced concrete elements
5   To be able to follow the innovations in the analysis and application of reinforced concrete structural elements and to adapt these innovations within the scope of the course

8 Load-deflection calculations of beams and columns in the nonlinear range
