Course Objective |
Deleterious physical and chemical effects on reinforced concrete structures such as wear, fire, freezing-thawing, wetting-drying, sulfate attack, alkali aggregate reaction and corrosion of the embedded steel in concrete will be discussed within the scope of this lecture. The significance, mechanisms, and control of various causes of concrete and reinforcing steel deterioration are discussed in detail. The materials that commonly used for the repair of deteriorated structures will be presented. |
