Course Objective

With this course, the student's understanding of the effects of radiation and radiation therapy is to understand the basic mechanisms.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the biological properties of radiation.
2   Identify the effects of radiation on normal tissue and tumor tissue.
3   Explain the effects of various radiation types and tissue types of radiation.
4   Define agents to increase or decrease the effectiveness of radiation.
5   Explain the reasons for delivering radiation in fractions.
