Course Objective

The aim of the course is to motivate nursing students from different countries to share their knowledge, health systems, nursing care of each other about family planning counseling, to identify the differences, to learn to give care that respects culture, and to engage in activities that improve family planning counselling skills.

1   The students can describe global family planning situation
2   The students can define the principles of family planning counseling
3   The student can give family planning counseling that respects culture
4   The student can give appropriate family planning counseling to vulnerable women
5   The student can give appropriate family planning counseling to mothers who are in lactation period
6   The student can give appropriate family planning counseling to women who has chronic disease.
7   The students can discuss medical situations by using family planning counselling knowledge.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

In the assessment of the course, 50% of the midterm grade and 50% of the final grade shall determine the semester grade.
Midterm Grade includes %25 midterm exam, %15 homework/ presentations and %10 classroom activities.
Semester Grade: 50% 1st Midterm Exam grade + 50% final grade
To pass the course, the average must be 60 points.

Assessment Criteria

In exams; interpretation, recall, decision making, explanation, classification, information combining skills will be evaluated
