Course Objective

This course aims to provide the student with information about the roles and responsibilities of the wound and stoma nurse, and the maintenance of wound care and the care of the patient with stoma.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Discuss the professional role and importance of the wound and stoma care nurse
2   Explain the pathophysiology of wound etiology and wound healing.
3   Explain the nursing interventions in line with the needs of the stoma patient
4   Discuss current issues, health care technologies, and evidence-based guidelines on wound and stoma care
5   Shows sensitivity to legal and ethical issues in wound and stoma care

In the assessment of the course, 50% of the midterm exam grade and 50% of the final grade will be determined as the course success grade.
