Course Objective

Aims to introduce the general history of architecture through a brief survey, by underlying: urban patterns and social role of architecture; form and meaning; structure and building technology; materials and ornament. The course outline is mainly chronological from the Archaic to the Roman period. The focus is the architecture of the Anatolia till the Roman period will be surveyed globally.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Evaluation of social, economic, political, cultural, aspects affecting the Architecture of Civilizations in Anatolia
2   Evaluating by understanding the impact that shapes and sustains global and local architecture
3   Examination of building types of Anatolian Architecture
4   Gaining the ability of evaluating the periodical differences of Architectural styles
5   Examination of the structural features of the building types
