Course Objective

This course aims at defining urbanization and urban growth; presenting the concepts and theory in urban geography with the circumstances under which they have developed; getting to comprehend urban structure and land use, interpreting various city samples in the context of urban geography and analysing the relationships between function and form in the city.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, the students are expected; 1. to learn what the urban geography means.
2   2. to list different concepts of urban geography.
3   3. to interpret urban structure and land use.
4   4. to analyze various city samples in the context of urban geography.
5   5. to unite social relations that determine the city geography.
6   6. to evaluate the component of the city in the context of urban planning.
