Course Objective |
The main aim of this course is to introduce basic crystallography and structural imperfections in crystalline materials. For this purpose, first the concepts of crystal structure and symmetry element, Bravais lattices, unit cell, miller indices, crystal planes and directions will be discussed then; foundation and background of x-ray crystallography will be explained in detail. Finally, twinning phenomena and martensitic transformations in crystalline structures will be discussed. |
