Course Objective

The main objectives of this course are:
- to understand the basic concepts of the convective heat transfer phenomena,
- to solve integrated heat transfer problems with using both analytical and numerical methods
- to carry out parametric analyses and to improve the skills on discussing the results with an engineering perspective.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the concept of boundary layer and to apply the governing equations and non-dimensional parameters
2   To apply correlations to determine for the flow over basic geometries.
3   To analyze the hydrodynamic and thermal effects for internal flow.
4   To analyze the natural convection and the systems that include the combined heat transfer mechanisms.
5   To analyze thermal systems that include boiling and condensation.
6   To resolve the heat transfer problems on computer and to discuss the results
