Course Objective

Hydrological cycle, Determination of Hydrogeological properties of rocks, Groundwater investigations, Groundwater pollution sources, Determination and interpretation of groundwater physical and chemical properties, the results of the geophysical methods are used and interpreted with the Hydrogeological information

1   To be able to explain the basic Hydrological and Hydrogeological concepts.
2   To be able to apply the groundwater monitoring techniques.
3   To be able to use the various geophysical methods to Hydrogeological problems.

2 Water. Hydrological cycle and its components.
3 Water budget and Aquifers.
4 Hydrogeological features of rocks and groundwater flow.
5 Well Hydrolic, balanced regime, problem solution.
6 Unbalanced regime, problem solution.
7 Chemical features of Groundwater. Homework-1-a:Research and Discussion of hydrogeological features of a field selected from the Aegean Region.
8 Salt water intrusion and hydrogeological surveys.
9 Electrical methods in Groundwater investigations Homework-1-b:Evaluation of geophysical data of a field selected from the Aegean Region and interpretation of results in terms of groundwater.
10 Electromagnetic methods in Groundwater investigations
11 Magnetic method applications in Groundwater investigations.
12 GPR applications in Groundwater investigations.
13 Seismic method in Groundwater investigations and Borehole geophysics.
