Course Objective

You will learn how to locate and interpret the engineering properties of rocks and soils, identify mass movements, dam site work and how tunnel rock mass classifications are made as well as teach how to research and identify materials needed for research

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Recognize, Geological and structural events occurring in the earth's crust, as well as identify rocks and minerals.
2   Interpret Rock material and rock mass, discontinuities and the concepts of the ground.
3   Solve geotechnical and engineering problems using mathematical models and numerical expressions.
4   Analyze contributing formation mechanisms of natural disasters.
5   Synthesize and solve problems in geo-engineering using geophysical methods.
