Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to examine the characteristics of the suspended and bed
load materials in rivers, to define and the criteria and parameters for the movement of
the sediment, to reveal the changes of river bed caused by sediment transport.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Remembering the fluid mechanics and hydraulics information.
2   Defining the characteristics of sediment transported in rivers.
3   Examining the criteria for the start of sediment movement.
4   Determining the amount of sediment transported.
5   Evaluating the results of the sediment transported.
