Course Objective

Within the context of this course, design of water resources systems is implemented. To this end, the information previously taught in the courses of Hydraulics, Hydrology and Hydraulic Structures is transferred into and supported by practical applications. Furthermore, students are donated with relevant information about the state of water resources in Türkiye and worldwide.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explaining basic information about the state of water resources in Türkiye and worldwide.
2   Ability to identify necessary reservoir capacities.
3   Ability to classify dams.
4   Explaining general criteria considered in designing dams.
5   Ability to perform design and analysis of spillways.
6   Increasing practical knowledge on water supply and sewerage.
7   Ability to discuss the role of water resources systems under the changing climatic conditions today.
