Course Objective

This course introduces basic concepts and techniques in the field of production and operations management. These basic concepts include the topics such as push and pull systems, MRP, production scheduling, single/mixed model assembly lines and line balancing.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to make a material requirements plan for products
2   Ability to use production lot size determination methods
3   Ability to classify machine scheduling problems and use related simple solution methods
4   Ability to classify line balancing problems and use related solution methods
5   To be able to do homework/projects on subjects related to the course content, according to the instructions given
