Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to deliver the basic principles on design and analysis of the digital communication systems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain the basic components which compose the digital communication systems
2   To be able to conceive the utilization of the methods of the source coding and channel coding techniques in digital communication systems
3   To be able to identify basic modulation techniques used in digital communication
4   To be able to compare the performances of the various digital communication systems under noise
5   To be able to realize and analyze the modeling of the various digital communication systems in computer media

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The teaching method is to explain the subjects to the students face to face. The student to be able to identify the engineering problems explained in the lesson and to be able to solve problems via midterm and final examinations, to be able to report the experimental results associated with theoretical subjects at laboratory and to be able to compare these results constitute the learning method.
