Although, the international trade (foreign trade) is an old economic activity, it is increasingly becoming a more complex activity requiring specialization due to globalizing economic relations. The main rules of international trade, exportation-importation techniques and transactions, preparation of documents and risks, delivery-payment conditions and types, organizations of export-import, coordination of foreign trade departments of companies, preparations of foreign trade documents and evaluation, exchange and custom regulations, free zones, support of export and investment, unions of foreign trade, global organizations, and E-trade are the certain subjects that an engineer may encounter. A person who has an engineering education, working in a corporate or his/her own company, will exactly need this knowledge at any stage of his/her profession in terms of projects, production, exploration, theoretical and/or applied work. Even he/she does not foreign trade by himself/herself, it is important to follow up the future of the procedures at any stage of exporting or importing of the goods. Case studies and application examples from real life will be given along with the theoretical knowledge, thus encouraging doing foreign trade and/or following its procedures either in his/her field or others. |
