Course Objective

To learn about new approaches about public administration and new administration strategies, to present administration techniques about emergency, to evaluate positon of Türkiye by comparision with developed countries, to define sustainable cities of future are the main goals.

1 Presentation of a general overview on the subjects of the course `Natural Disaster-induced Crisis Management Definition of the basic terminology of the course
2 Crisis and crisis management, historical development and etymological structure of the concept of crisis, stages of crisis management and integrated crisis management characteristics of crisis, crisis process, types of crisis, purpose and importance of crisis management,
3 Phases of disaster and crisis administration, integrated disaster management
4 Experiences of countries about natural disaster management
5 Related legislation
6 Organizational and administrative structure about disaster administration in Türkiye
7 Related legislation
8 Midterm exam
9 Local governments and disaster administration
10 Development plans and disaster administration
11 Location strategies and accomodation
12 Auditing of structures and its relation with disaster administration
13 Experienced events and future strategies (Avalanche, flood, freezing rain, tsunami, tornado, fire, earthquake, tsunami, avian influenza, epidemic invasion of grasshoppers and etc.) and crisis planning)
14 Final exam
