Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the basic principles of instrumental analysis techniques, electromagnetic beam and its properties, matter-electromagnetic beam interaction, basic parts used in devices and their properties.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Evaluates chemistry knowledge with instrumental analysis methods. 2   Understands the basics of instrumental analysis methods. 3   Recognizes optical devices and their components. 4   Explains the interaction of light with matter. 5   Demonstrates atomic absorption, atomic emission, atomic mass, and UV/visible absorption spectrometry techniques. 6   Understands how to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis with the given methods.
