Course Objective

The course introduces students to independent research on a topic which they develop under regular supervision of the instructor. The course teaches fundamentals of proper research question development, methodology selection, proper structuring of a research project and formatting of an article. The course content includes periodic evaluation of student reports and submission of the complete project at the end of the term.

Assessment Criteria

1. Research Question is the basic question or set of questions that your study will answer or attempt to answer. In many ways, the research question is similar to the target. Without a clear goal, you won't know where to focus and focus your efforts. Essentially, your research question acts as a guiding light throughout your project, informing every choice you make along the way.
2. The Research Proposal must clearly state the research topic. This needs to be specific and clear. The research topic should clearly state exactly what you plan to research and in what context. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the research proposal provides a detailed description of the research topic. If possible, briefly outline your research aims and objectives and perhaps even your research questions, but in some cases you will only develop these at a later stage.
3. Term Project will be prepared as an academic paper that provides research-based analysis, interpretation and argument. Projects should be designed to cover topics in detail and evaluate not only your writing skills but also your scientific research skills. Project writing processes require you to demonstrate that you have knowledge about your subject, provide citations from various sources, and make an original contribution to the discussion.
4. Presentations will be evaluated on the capacity to structure the presentation, oral communication skills, ability to respond to questions and manage audience participation.
