First Cycle Programmes (Bachelor's Degree)

Course Coordinator

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR YUSUF YÜKSEL

Offered to

Marine Transportation Engineering

Course Objective

To introduce students to the fundemental conceps of Newtonian mechnics and the application of these laws of motion. These ideas are essential to all aspects of marine engineering and transport

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will demonstrate critical thinking by being able to determine what information given is necessary to solve a problem and what information is extraneous.
2   Student will able to demonstrate a variaty of problem solving skills including estimating "working backwards and utilizing units.
3   Studens will be able to describe Newtonian Mechanics in simple, everday language that incorporates operation definitaion and not simply memorized wording.
4   Students will be able to observe physical phenomena and develop mathematical formulas that describe the phenomena
5   Students will efficiently demonstrate an understanding of Newtonian mechanics by using mehcanics to describe motion in one, two and three dimension
