Course Objective

The goal of the course is to provide the student with an understanding of the basic principles of geography and apply those principles to the study of world regions. The course emphasizes the physical and human characteristics that make regions distinctive. The physical environment includes landforms and climate while the human landscape is characterized by language, religion, population characteristics, and economic
development. All of these characteristics help define regions of the world. Successful students will gain an understanding of the relationships between Earths landscapes and the people who inhabit those places as well as insight into globalization, development, sustainability and geopolitics. And also they will gain an understanding of transport geography systems.
