Course Objective

The main objective of the course is to provide a solid foundation of knowledge of core management topics. Other course objectives are as follows; expose students to the theories of management, organizational theory and the practice of management in contemporary organizations from a conceptual, analytical and pragmatic perspective, explain fundamental concepts and principles of management, including the basic roles, skills, and functions of management, allow the students to develop their own framework for analyzing and understanding management.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Apprehend the company by its definitions/roles, its functions and by its environment;
2   Gather knowledge on the fundamental concepts and principles of management, including the basic roles, skills, and functions of management;
3   Be knowledgeable of historical development, theoretical aspects and practice application of managerial process;
4   Evaluate the interactions between the environment, technology, human resources, and organizations in order to achieve high performance.
5   Offer solutions for the managerial problems encountering in businesses,
6   Analyze businesses from the managerial and organizational dimensions and develop strategies and policies,
7   Apply learning experiences to real-world situations.
