Course Objective

To answer how Islam approaches painting, arts and architecture by taking religious arguments into the centre as well evaluating how Islam sees humankind; to make clear understanding Islamic aesthetics and arts by giving examples from early Islamic arts

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   will be able to interpret the notions "religion", "aesthetics", and "art".
2   Will gain ability of explaining the factors having role in the formation of arts.
3   Will have knowledge on the works of early Islamic arts and architecture.
4   will be able to remember buildings, paintings and other fine arts.
5   will have knowledge about philosophy of art, aesthetics and selected views of thinkers.
