Course Objective

To examine the relationships and interactions of believers of two major religions, Christianity and Islam, throughout history, from their first encounters to the present; to identify the roots of existing problems and to inform students in this context

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will learn about the history and theology of Christianity.
2   Students will learn about the history and Theology of Islam
3   Students will learn the relations of the believers of these two religions since the 7th century.
4   Students will learn about the literature on the subject.
5   Students will discuss the experience of living together by learning the process of Muslim-Christian relations.

6 The question of conversion of Christians to Islam under Islamic rule

11 The relationships between Muslims and Christians under Ottoman rule
