Course Objective

Students will be able to comprehend the place and importance of measurement in education and its use in religious education. They will be able to define the basic measurement and assessment concepts and reflect them to the measurement and assessment process in religious education. They will be able to gain knowledge about the types of measurement and assessment and their use in religious education. They will be able to comprehend the relations between measurement and assessment and to see its equivalent in religious teaching. They will be able to recognize the basic concepts of measurement tools and methods and to gain skills on how to use them in religious teaching process. They will be able to recognize the concepts of reliability, validity and usefulness and to apply them in religious teaching process. They will be able to comprehend the measurement and performance assessment of cognitive and affective behaviors and learn to measure and assess these areas in the field of religious education.

1   They will know the place, importance and usage of measurement and evaluation in general education
2   They will know the basic types and tools of measurement and evaluation and use them
3   They will be able to do measurement and evaluation in key learning areas
4   They will be produce measurement tools according to reliability, validity and comprehensiveness, and use them
5   They will be aware of place and importance of performance evaluation in educational process and use them.
